A pragmatical aproach

The TRIPS PLUS ULTRA proposal was conceived by understanding the needs and points of view of both the developed and the developing world in the international arena and a middle ground was found. Click HERE for the analysis that inspired it and here for a methodological note that explains its academic background.

It takes into account the particular nature of Intellectual Property and the history that has lead us to the status quo.

This proposal has a “status quo bias” which, although not a panacea, renders it pragmatic. We believe the implementation of the TRIPS PLUS ULTRA proposal will reset the system, making more agreements around it possible and desirable. The next step could be the  global patent or to try to find the optimal global protection.
